A Trip To The Beach update #1

Is there ever a trip that doesn't have a change of plans? I seriously doubt it. :) Our change of plans is this: We were going to stay in Galveston for the whole trip, now we are going to be staying some of the time in Galveston and the rest of the time in Port Aransas at Mustand Island State Park!!Which is fine with me.. It is still on the beach and now we can go to the Texas State Aquarium, one of my favorite places!

We have found it to be very difficult to even find a place to stay in Fort Worth, but we have finally found a place that looks very nice Vineyards Campground. It is on Grapevine Lake, and they have their own private beach and playground. Best of all, we can have 10 people at our site plus a tent. So my husbands family is going to be able (if they want) to camp with us! Lets see what other changes come before we leave.

18 days and counting......

There's Nothing Like A Trip To The Beach.

4 months after our first trip, we finally have plans for another trip in our camper! WOO-HOO!! A trip to the beach! Is there anything better?? We are doing our trip in June, just about a month away. We are going to pick up my husband 6 yr old son in Del Rio first, then off to Fort Worth, Tx for his nieces High School Graduation. It is turning out to be a family reunion (all of my husband's family live in North Dakota and Minnesota) we traveled up there last year. (no camper) It is going to be nice to see them again. We are staying in Fort Worth for 3 days, then off to Galveston, Tx for the rest of the time! I already have the place picked out we are staying Jamaica Beach Rv Park. It looks like a really nice place, with lots to do at the location, a miniature golf course, water wars games, a splash pad, a pool, it is within walking distance to the beach. Hopefully there will be enough to keep a 6 year old and 2 year olds busy for a few days. We have plans to do other things, but we do want to just hang out at the camper for a few days. I am counting down the days until we can go!

Our First Camping Trip!

Well we did it!! We purchased our first home away from home! SO EXCITING!! We are the proud owners of a 2012 Coachman Clipper Sport. After looking at several options we realized that our mini van would only pull so much. (it doesn't have a tow package) So we had to go with a smaller camper, but it is perfect for our family! We have almost 2 year old twins and my husband has a 6 year old who will be camping with us sometimes, so it is the perfect size! My parents are full timers in a 40ft. Cheetah Safari, we decided for our first trip we would just stay where they are, at Blazing Star Rv Resort in San Antonio. (about 10 minutes from our house, hey camping is camping!) We went up and picked up the trailer and set off for a weekend of adventure and excitement!

We arrived at Blazing Star and got set up, it was pretty cold! We had mom and dad keep the twins the first night since we had no clue what would happen. :) Everything went wonderfully. We did decide to go to Wal-Mart the next day and get an air mattress to sleep on instead of just the mattress that came with the camper. It made such a difference.

We also decided to get a few "necessities" for the camper. A coleman port-a-poty was on the top of the list, as well as a microwave. (we really rough it when we camp) We has such a great time! I can't wait for our next adventure!! I hope it is soon!

Our 1st real Camper.

About a year ago, my husband and I purchased a pop up camper that needed some work. It had no title, and it seemed the more we fixed the more there was to fix. We threw in the towel, sold it for $100 more than we bought it for and decided this was not the time to be doing this.
Fast foward a year and here we are about to purchase another camper. We LOVE to camp and have missed it alot. We decided to use our income tax return to buy a camper. We looked on craigslist and found a few possiablities, we even drove to Houston to look at one.. it was pretty bad!! We came back home and re-grouped and decided to just buy a new one.
We have (almost) been blessed with a wonderful new camper, we are purchasing it this weekend. One thing my husband and I have said from the beginning is we want a camper that we DO NOT have to fix up in any way, which is why we are going new.
here is a picture of what our new camper will look like.
It is the blue one.

We are so excited and cannot wait for our first camping trip!!
